Membership Year
All memberships follow a standard membership year running from July 1 through June 30. Members may join at any time.
Annual Membership Renewal
Our membership renewal cycle begins each March. This is when the dues rate for the following membership year will be communicated. Members whose term expires in June will receive renewal notices with a payment deadline of July 1 via email.
Because many institutions operate on academic fiscal years that begin in July, we offer a 30-day grace period for membership payments. After the grace period, any membership not renewed will lose access to all membership benefits until payment is received.
Membership Payment Terms
Payment for any membership type may be made by check or credit card.
- By paying with a credit card, the member authorizes CUR to charge all disclosed fees to the card provided.
- For check payments, membership will not be considered active or current until payment is received in full.
Chargebacks
By submitting payment, the member agrees to abide by CUR’s refund and cancellation policies. Members must contact CUR to attempt to resolve any billing issues prior to initiating a chargeback with their financial institution. CUR reserves the right to dispute any chargeback that is inconsistent with these terms and to provide supporting documentation to the card issuer. Membership access may be suspended during any unresolved chargeback. CUR may assess or recover any chargeback-related fees resulting from an unwarranted or invalid dispute.
Membership Transfers, Cancellations, and Refunds
Memberships are non-transferable.
Memberships are non-refundable except when an individual member joins an institution with an active enhanced or institutional membership and requests a cancellation in writing within 30 days of the individual membership start date.
Statement on Lobbying
CUR does not engage in any lobbying. We advocate for undergraduate research, but it is not in the form of any lobbying that is required to be reported under the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act of 2007. Zero dollars of our membership dues funds are used for lobbying.
CUR encourages our members to advocate for undergraduate research and provides resources on how to do this under our advocacy pages.
Member Logo Usage

In this situation, as an institutional member of CUR, CUR has the right to showcase your institution’s logo as a informational purposes only and according to the institution’s specific branding guidelines.
