  • Engineering Division Leadership and Mentoring Awards 2026 Deadline

    The Engineering Division aims to recognize both those who directly mentor undergraduate researchers as well as those who administratively enable the institutionalization of undergraduate research on campuses. The Engineering Division requests nominations for our mentoring and leadership awards:

    - Early-Career Undergraduate Research Mentoring Award (ECURMA) – awarded annually, but recognized biannually.
    - Undergraduate Research Mentoring Award (URMA) – awarded annually, but recognized biannually.
    - The Leadership in Undergraduate Research Award (LURA) is awarded biannually on even years.

  • Engineering Division NCUR Video Contest 2026 Deadline

    We are excited that you will be participating in NCUR and presenting your engineering research. The CUR Engineering Division would like to highlight your research! By completing this application, you are allowing CUR-Engineering to share your research video with the public. You will also be eligible to be recognized publicly and potentially receive a cash award.

  • Biology Division Small Research Grants 2026 Deadline

    The Biology Division of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is pleased to announce a limited number of research supply grants, up to $500 each, to members of the Biology Division. These grants are intended for projects involving undergraduate students in which this small grant will make a big impact. Grant funds will be given as a stipend and do not need to be used during this fiscal year.

  • National Conference on Undergraduate Research 2026

    The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity in all fields of study by sponsoring an annual conference for students. Unlike meetings of academic professional organizations, this gathering of student scholars welcomes presenters from all institutions of higher learning and from all disciplines. NCUR 2026 will take place in Richmond, VA.

  • ConnectUR 2026 Early-Bird Registration Deadline

    ConnectUR conference provides a platform for attendees to engage in professional development, explore innovative practices, and collaborate with peers dedicated to advancing impactful research programs. By attending, participants gain valuable strategies to enhance the research environment at their institutions, build stronger communities, and contribute to a national movement that champions the role of undergraduate research in addressing real-world challenges.

  • Undergraduate Research Week 2026

    CUR designates a week in April each year as “Undergraduate Research Week.” This is a national celebration that showcases what campuses are doing to celebrate UR, congratulate students on their research, and say thank those faculty and mentors who have helped guide the way.​

  • URP Exchange: Undergraduate Research and National Fellowships

    This month’s topic is on undergraduate research and national fellowships. The URP Divisional representatives facilitating this discussion will be from Colorado School of Mines, Creighton University, Florida Atlantic University, and Grand Valley State University.
