The CUR Biology Division Mentor Awards honor biology mentors for their sustained efforts in supervising undergraduate research students. Awards will be made in three categories: Early Career, Mid-Career, and Advanced Career.
The CUR Fellows Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research Leadership annually recognizes a Class of CUR members who are leaders and role models within the undergraduate research community and whose career represents the values and ideals represented in CUR’s Characteristics of Excellence in Undergraduate Research.
The CUR Social Sciences Division is pleased to offer the following mentor awards. These awards are designed to recognize and encourage exceptional contributions within the social sciences.
- Early Career Inspiring Scholarship Award
- Continuing Excellence in Undergraduate Mentorship Award
- Legacy of Excellence in Undergraduate Mentorship Award
The CUR MCS Division Inclusivity Award annually recognizes a member for excellence and sustainable work in broadening access to the mathematical, computational, or statistical sciences. This recognition focuses on the implementation of real-world research projects for undergraduate students, with contributions that have made a significant and positive impact on a national scale or demonstrated strong potential to do so. A desirable contribution aligns with the NSF’s “broader impacts” goal, engaging a wider audience effectively.
The Silvia Ronco Innovative Mentor Award was established to recognize original and insightful research work by a young investigator working with undergraduates that has had significant impact in chemistry and the STEM careers of students involved.
The Engineering Division aims to recognize both those who directly mentor undergraduate researchers as well as those who administratively enable the institutionalization of undergraduate research on campuses. The Engineering Division requests nominations for our mentoring and leadership awards:
- Early-Career Undergraduate Research Mentoring Award (ECURMA) – awarded annually, but recognized biannually.
- Undergraduate Research Mentoring Award (URMA) – awarded annually, but recognized biannually.
- The Leadership in Undergraduate Research Award (LURA) is awarded biannually on even years.
We are excited that you will be participating in NCUR and presenting your engineering research. The CUR Engineering Division would like to highlight your research! By completing this application, you are allowing CUR-Engineering to share your research video with the public. You will also be eligible to be recognized publicly and potentially receive a cash award.
The Biology Division of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is pleased to announce a limited number of research supply grants, up to $500 each, to members of the Biology Division. These grants are intended for projects involving undergraduate students in which this small grant will make a big impact. Grant funds will be given as a stipend and do not need to be used during this fiscal year.

CUR invites applications for the annual CUR Campus-Wide Award for Undergraduate Research Accomplishments (AURA). This award recognizes higher education institutions that have successfully implemented the characteristics of excellence, have devised exemplary programs to provide high-quality research experiences to undergraduates, and have evaluated the success of these programs.
