The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) congratulates the following 135 individuals for their completion from the 2025-26 Scholars Transforming Through Research (STR) Program. STR is a competitive, application-based, professional development opportunity for campus teams composed of one staff or faculty representative and one to three undergraduate students.
Over several months, participants strengthened their communication and civic engagement skills, learning how to clearly articulate the value and impact of undergraduate research to their campuses, communities, and public audiences. The program culminated in onsite preparation and meetings with stakeholders and elected officials in Washington, DC.
“This cohort reflects a growing community of campus leaders who understand how critical it is to engage the public when sharing the story and impact of undergraduate research. They recognize that communicating the value and outcomes of their work beyond the academy is not optional; it is essential to meaningful civic engagement and to sustaining long-term, broad support for higher education and research. Through STR, these teams have strengthened their ability to tell that story with clarity, purpose, and confidence.”
Lindsay Currie, CUR executive officer
