CUR’s Annual Leadership Meeting (ALM) serves as a yearly gathering for elected volunteer leaders and national office staff to collaborate, align goals, and plan together. This meeting fosters an environment where participants can learn, share insights, and deepen their understanding of processes and procedures, ensuring that CUR remains sustainable and continues to be the foremost voice of support for undergraduate research.
The ConnectUR conference will provide a forum where attendees can draw on knowledge exchange, scholarship of teaching and learning, group discussion, and community building to expand their approaches to undergraduate research. Registration will open in March 2025.
SPUR seeks applicants with strong methodological skills, experience with quantitative, mixed methods, and qualitative research, and extensive experience publishing and reviewing high-quality scholarly works. We are especially interested in international applicants, those researching the arts & humanities, geosciences, education, and physics and astronomy.
The Geoscience Division of the Council of Undergraduate Research (GeoCUR) recognizes the critical work of developing best practices in undergraduate research. This award highlights individuals who place undergraduate research at the center of professional activities. GeoCUR annually recognizes individuals who are initiating creative, impactful, and/or innovative undergraduate research activities.
The Geosciences Division of CUR annually recognizes an individual who serves as a role model for productive and transformative student-faculty mentoring relationships and for maintaining a sustained and innovative approach to the enterprise of undergraduate research.
CUR invites applications for the annual CUR Campus-Wide Award for Undergraduate Research Accomplishments (AURA). This award recognizes higher education institutions that have successfully implemented the characteristics of excellence, have devised exemplary programs to provide high-quality research experiences to undergraduates, and have evaluated the success of these programs.
The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity in all fields of study by sponsoring an annual conference for students. Unlike meetings of academic professional organizations, this gathering of student scholars welcomes presenters from all institutions of higher learning and from all disciplines. NCUR 2026 will take place in Richmond, VA.

Hosted by the CUR Undergraduate Research Program Division, these 50-minute Zoom sessions are monthly facilitated exchanges of ideas and information on a variety of topics and issues related to undergraduate research programs.
The STR Program is a valuable resource for teaching your undergraduate research students communication tools for translating research into understandable language while also communicating the impact, potential impact, and opportunities this research can have to stakeholder groups such as funding agencies, association partners, elected officials, future employers, community, and beyond.
