DESCRIPTION:University of Wisconsin-River Falls  \nOrganized by: Paula Dehn\, PhD\, Professor Emeritus Biology and Former Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the College\, Kentucky Wesleyan College \nThis institute will bring together faculty and administrators interested in preparing proposals for submission to external funding agencies. The multi-day institute will consist of one-on-one work with a mentor\, writing\, small-group discussions\, and critiquing of proposals. The institute has been developed to assist novice to experienced proposal writers in drafting complete proposals for submission. \nInstitute’s Aim and Requirements for Participants: Participants will leave with a complete\, competitive draft. The aim of these student-centered career readiness adjustments is to close the articulation gap between what students learn from their URSCI experiences and what recruiters\, employers\, legislators\, and families seek from higher education. Participants will: (1) become familiar with the NACE career readiness competencies\, (2) learn how to apply the NACE comptencies to undergraduate research experiences (UREs)\, (3) see examples of how to apply the NACE competencies to UREs\, and (4) begin an action plan for infusing NACE career readiness in your UREs.\n\nThe last day to cancel your workshop registration was May 20\, 2024. Dr. LeMahieu leads assessment and research for Colorado State University’s Office for Undergraduate Research and Artistry. \nDescription: Often\, we have big goals for our programs but they may feel abstract or out of reach. Perhaps we have a sense that our programs are working great for some folks but we aren’t reaching others and we don’t know why. Implementation assessment is a way of examining program operations and resources to understand how well a program is going as planned. Implementation assessment can help you gain a stronger sense of your program’s identity and effectiveness\, and help you articulate accomplishments and needs to others. It can help you make better claims about how your program is making a difference and for whom. We provide a model that is practical\, user-friendly\, and will help you be more intentional about where to put your time and resources. She has also worked as a program manager and formal and informal education program evaluator.
